My Career so far

My career journey began in the world of retail operations and marketing, where I honed my skills in strategic management, customer engagement, and community involvement within the cannabis industry.

This role demanded agility and innovation due to the complex regulatory landscape, rapid market expansion, and consumer-driven nature of the cannabis industry. Working in this sector necessitates a bootstrap, entrepreneurial approach, which honed my skills in adaptive thinking, strategic planning, and creative problem-solving . It also sparked an affinity for social activism and local community involvement.

Currently, I am expanding my horizons as a graduate student at USC’s IYA Academy, focusing on projects that solve for social impact and global innovation.

Passion Projects

My entrepreneurial journey began in seventh grade when my best friend and I started a myspace site where we created layouts and web graphics for public use. Since then, I have had a passion for starting businesses, with friends, family, or solo!

The DTLA Artist Collective

At 26, my friends and I initiated a pop-up cannabis and art gallery in Downtown LA, where we organized summer events throughout 2018. I led the cannabis operations, overseeing event coordination, brand partnerships, menu curation, and ensuring compliance. We collaborated with innovative brands like Jade, a VR company specializing in joint cannabis and virtual reality events, to deliver dynamic experiences. Our signature event was the monthly DTLA art walk night, featuring live paintings by talented artists, diverse bands, and an immersive cannabis lounge.

Stoned Velvet

At the age of 22, I launched two small businesses on Etsy, with "Stoned Velvet" leading the way. Specializing in jewelry and bralettes, Stoned Velvet not only achieved remarkable success with up to 20 orders a day, but it also gained recognition beyond expectations. My creations were featured in magazines, sought after by stylists, and showcased in photoshoots for independent magazines and photographers throughout Los Angeles.

Yerba Buena

Alongside Stoned Velvet, I embarked on another fulfilling project called "Yerba Buena," deeply rooted in my connection with my Navajo aunt and uncle. We crafted herb bundles, carefully handpicked in the high desert under my uncle's guidance. He taught me the art of mindful harvesting, emphasizing rituals that protect the land and honor the rich traditions of our ancestry. My aunt assisted with wrapping and labeling, sharing her wisdom on the traditional uses of each plant and guiding me on selling, pricing, and marketing strategies.
